The BIG Dipper is back, BIGGER and better than ever. A pureTrail Coastal race with an added Little Dipper Relay and, we believe, the toughest Marathon in the UK, THE MEGA DIPPER.

The BIG Dipper has a massive 1,452 of ascent in 16.5 miles (26.4km) following the South West Coast Path from Sidmouth to Beer running along the spectacularly flat pebbled beach section at Branscombe and up the famous ‘Stairway to Heaven’. The return is via extremely torturous section of the trail.

The Little Dipper is only little in name as it has a gargantuan 1,313m ascent in just 12.4 miles (19.84km) and is a Relay for two runners. Its Sidmouth to Branscombe and then Branscombe to Sidmouth! It’s the toughest section of the BIG Dipper and a few steps short of a 10k for each runner.

The MEGA Dipper combines the BIG Dipper and the Little Dipper races and has a total ascent of 2,765 metres!!

These races are far from easy. They’re a serious challenge. The Dipper goes up, then it goes down, then it goes back up again!
